2016 Mercedes C63 AMG - Blackout
Chrome detail on cars was introduced back in the 1930's. It was the go to for bumpers, grills and decorative details. To this day it is still used and in most applications, still looks good. We have to ask ourselves the question, why are manufactures still putting it on there aggressive performance models? Chrome has no place on a V8 twin turbo sledge hammer.
The team in the bodyshop recently completed a chrome blackout on this Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG. Wheels, window trims and door handle finishers were all removed and put through our proven de chrome technique.
One of the hardest parts about chrome is that very little will stick to it. Working with our partners AkzoNobel we have developed the techniques to allow paint to adhere to the surfaces meaning a proper OE finish. No wrap, no peeling paint.
