Adding GT downforce to a McLaren 570s
For the first time in the McLaren series, the 570 didn't feature active aerodynamics or a theatrical air brake. McLaren will say that because of the aerodynamic shape there is no need for a moving rear spoiler and we honestly couldn't agree more........ but shouldn't all supercars have Spoilers? Big wings? Dramatic features? some of those marmite features like the early Lamborghini's?
Our performance department recently completed this install of the 1016 industries carbon fibre GT wing, adding that supercar wow factor! The spoiler isn't just for show, the rear CNC mountings replace some of the rear body frame work and bolt directly onto the rear chassis rails. This direct connection with the chassis means the the additional downforce provided is sent directly to the rear wheels, increasing rear downforce.
